Jean is a registered and licensed dietitian who has practiced in
St. Louis for over 20 years. Prior to becoming a dietitian, she
received an associate's degree in Nursing and Biology and worked
as a registered nurse in an acute care hospital, as well as
medical clinics.
In 1987 Jean received her bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition
Science at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and took
postgraduate courses at the University of Arizona in Tucson.
In 1990 she completed a dietetic internship at BJC in St. Louis,
gaining experience in community and clinical nutrition plus food
service management.
As a dietitian, Jean has worked in a variety of health care settings
but has particularly enjoyed assisting clients in cardiac
rehabilitation and diabetes self-management, She obtained a
certification in Adult Weight Management in 2003 and recently earned
a certification in Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management.
She is married and has four grown step-children and three
step-grandsons. She has many interests including hiking, canoeing,
reading, painting, weaving, cooking, gardening, and keeping abreast
of the ever-changing areas of food and nutrition that impact society.
