Sarah graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a
bachelor's in health science and master's degree in physical therapy in
2001. While attending MIZZOU she worked as the Student Fitness Program
Manager in the MU Aerobics program and was recognized with both the
Significant Contribution Award and the Directors Award for Outstanding
Service. Sarah was certified to teach group fitness (step, kickbox,
yoga, Pilates, and cycling) and personal training through AFAA, and
developed innovative programming to promote health and fitness to MU
recreation center clients. After graduation, Sarah began to practice
outpatient orthopedic physical therapy and functioned as a PT clinic
manager. Sarah treated a variety of acute orthopedic conditions, but
truly enjoyed teaching patients about prevention and how they can help
themselves to prevent re-injury. She also worked as an aquatic physical
therapist for patients acutely recovering from spinal surgeries and
other medical conditions.
In 2004, following her passion for prevention, Sarah opened Ultimate
Potential Fitness (UPF) where physical therapists developed safe and
effective fitness programs for clients. She also developed active
enrichment classes and camps for kids, providing fun ways for children
to get exercise.
Acrovita is an extension of the in-home fitness and therapy programs
originally created under the UPF name. Acrovita expanded these
services to include nutritional counseling and wellness such as massage,
yoga, and Pilates. Sarah is eager to broaden services and professional
staff to accomplish the mission of empowering our clients well-being.
Sarah is happily married to her wonderful husband, Craig. Together they
have 3 children, Elizabeth, Caroline and James. Sarah loves spending time
with her family, exercising, and traveling whenever possible.
